Lovely Lightening.
The lovely Lightening has been sharing the love again. This award has come at a time when I really need it.
This award originally comes from A nice place in the sun, isn’t that a beautiful name? I couldn’t think who I could pass this award to, as Lightening has nominated all the beautiful people whose blogs I read.
It really touches me that Lightening would think of me when handing out this award. The criteria for receiving it is:
The creator of the You Cheer Me Up award had three things in mind for the recipients:
* bloggers who make me laugh until my face hurts
* bloggers whose writing voice comforts me when I’m feeling lost
* bloggers who inspire me when I’m feeling blue.
None of the above apply to my blog, apparently.
I have been told in no uncertain terms that my blog is full of shit, as am I.
For such a wonderful and uplifting blogger, Lightening, to think my sometimes acidic rants would fall into the above criteria makes me feel very humbled.
Thanks so much, Lightening. Thankyou for making us all remember to smile with Smiley Saturday. Thankyou for caring so much about those who visit your blog.
You’re a sweetie.
If anyone does not have the above award and would like it, follow the instructions I have copied from Lightening.
The original award instructions are:
If you are a recipient of the You Cheer Me Up Award, please find the blogs that cheer you up, copy the code to post on your sidebar and pass Ethel and Lucy across the blogosphere. You can use what cheers you up in your post, or copy this one, but please send your award recipients back to the original post on A Nice Place In The Sun to get a copy of the award code, post the image and read the instructions. I want to try to maintain a page of original and ongoing award recipients, so feel free to let me know if you’ve received an award when you pick up the image code.
Lightening, you have cheered me up more than you will ever know. *hugs*

I’m sorry you’ve been told that either you or your blog is full of shit. Of course you’re a worthy recipient of the award.
You don’t have to be cheerful ALL the time in order to make others smile. I’m glad I was able to do that for you anyway. (((HUGS))) right back at ya!!!

To the person who has been putting you down I say “Piss off! Go take your personal shit out on your family like any other good little whacko. What a sad sorry little life you lead to have nothing better to do than to harass people on the internet to improve your self esteem”
And yes, Lightening is lovely. I think she’s called lightening cos she brings streaks of happiness to people

Isn’t it funny that we can know someone is completely - well, why waste a great metaphor? - full of shit, yet we let their opinion matter to us… presumably because we’re doofuses.
Hmmm, yeah, to cheer you up I called you a doofus. I really gotta work on my bedside manner.
But, you rock. You may not know it, but you should. Cos I’m damn sure I’m not the only one to tell you so.

Found what you were talking about last night Anja. You can’t hide things from the coven.
Anja, we all have a ‘nasty’ side.
Anyone who takes the time to get to know you will get to see the caring, gentle and loving side that you carry. I am fortunate enough to have known you long enough to know some of what people are viewing as ‘nastiness’ is you just blowing off steam and not bottling things up. We all handle things differently.
Also remember, we see those qualities in others that we see in ourselves. I think there is true strength is acknowledging your own flaws, which you do on a regular basis.
I have more to say but think I will e-mail you privately about it.

I could address you all individually, but the message would be the same. I thank you all for your words of encouragement.
This means a lot. Egads, it means more to me than you will know.
I’ve been dumping on myself for allowing a psychopathic retard to get under my skin.
Doofus, I loved that. A firm but loving kick in the pants is what I needed.
You’re all beautiful and I thank you from the bottom of my frosty heart.

LOL - I’m glad you loved doofus. I only call people doofuses when I like them… otherwise they’re twits, morons and bloody idiots *snicker*
March 11, 2008 at 12:34 pm
yes, doofus is a much kinder and gentler word isn’t it? lol

Hello Anja, Congratulation’s! I’m so happy you received the You Cheer Me Up Award. I’ve been going by the blogs who used the code, and watching my comment page. So I missed adding your blog to my award page. I’m sorry, and I’m going to add you right now~:))
I love your blog and thank you for posting and passing along the cheer. You did a wonderful job on this post, and it really cheered me up. Therefore, it seems to me Lightening did a good job of passing it to the right blogs- :))
